Headline: Special Weather Statement issued December 5 at 9:15PM EST by NWS Jackson KY
Description: Patchy drizzle and fog have developed across eastern Kentucky
this evening, especially over higher terrain. At higher
elevations, temperatures are hovering around freezing, resulting
in the potential for a light glaze of ice accumulation from
freezing drizzle.

Additionally, a few sheltered valleys and hollows may have travel
surface temperatures at or slightly below freezing. Isolated
instances of black ice are possible in these areas, especially
where roads are untreated.

Travelers are encouraged to treat all damp or wet roads as having
the potential for black ice, even where air temperatures are
slightly above freezing. Increase following distance, and avoid
accelerating or sharp braking through curves and intersections.

Light icing could form on surfaces and roadways as a result.
Motorists should exercise caution while traveling tonight and
Saturday morning, especially on secondary roadways, bridges, and
